Rangers Seriously After Pitching

Maybe Nolan should suit it up again to add some pitching. He can't be much worse than what they have.

We all knew the Rangers needed pitching, so we were all waiting for them to realize it themselves. Apparently, Nolan Ryan finally gets it. He wants to open Tom Hicks' wallet and buy some pitching, leading to thoughts of Sabathia and Sheets. The Rangers will make this offseason more interesting with this attitude. Yet, I somehow see them as the losers here. I don't know how much Sabathia and Sheets will want to pitch in Texas, but if the Rangers give out an A-Rod deal, it's possible. I still see the Yankees, Braves, Brewers, and Cardinals as the major players for the "Big Two", but the Rangers have placed themselves into the discussion. If they don't get Sheets or CC, do they go after Burnett? Lowe? Garland? Burnett is likely as not to get injured, but he's much worse than Sheets as far as pitching is concerned. Lowe and Garland aren't front-of-the-rotation guys. Are they going to give away the money that Millwood and Padilla stole from them for little production? It seems like a better idea to open the vault of prospects and deal them away for some pitching. Maybe get one of the young three from the Angels or Masterson from the Red Sox. The Rangers have a loaded farm system, so maybe they should use that instead of Hicks' wallet.
