Saturday Sagas

Slow news day.

- Junichi Tazawa threw a complete-game shutout last night for his Japanese team. His price tag just went up a tick.

- The economy is causing problems with getting naming rights for a new stadium. No, not any of the ones in New York.

- I spoke too soon. Citi Field is kind of a crappy name anyway.

- The Marlins can begin building a new stadium, but when will it be ready? Considering the other problems people are having, Dolphin Stadium is looking pretty good right now.

- Lou Pinella opens up about some things going on with the Cubs. Is he really going to let Gregg close over Marmol?

- The D-Backs offered Ramon Vazquez a contract. There are other options for second base, but he's cheap and effective enough.

- Joe Beimel's days in LA are over. Kuo and Stults make Beimel expendable. Good decision.

- What happens if the Yankees whiff on the free-agent pitchers? It's a legitimate possibility regardless of the Yankees' money.
