Doesn't seem too pertinent to my usual stuff, but I thought this was interesting from a Braves perspective (potentially). With Tex probably off to the Yankees next season, the Braves need a new first baseman. Would they trade for LaRoche, althoughl mbtraderumors.com says no? Would they trade for Pearce? I kind of hope so. Pearce has a lot of potential and is younger and cheaper than LaRoche. The Pirates seem to like LaRoche, so they might keep him instead. Other teams who might need a first baseman: Rangers, Mets, Mariners, Yankees, Royals, Giants.
